Battery will have some security problems after using for a long time, such as manufacturing, handling, transport, improper maintenance, long-time using and bad installation cause leakage, which is a common problem. Through years of research and analysis, the main reasons are as follows.
l Electrolyte
There is no need to add electrolyte because lead-acid battery is maintenance-free. l The relief valve
The safety valve can seal the battery under certain pressure and prevent the electrolyte from spilling out. When the battery exceeds the specified pressure, the safety valve will automatically open to air, resulting in the safety valve leakage, which is generally concluded into two reasons:
Firstly, the battery is in a state of rich liquid. The increase of internal pressure leads to frequent opening of the safety valve. After the gas overflow the safety valve, the battery will be cooled outside the battery and condense into acid around the safety valve.
Second, the aging of the rubber pad around the relief valve and the change of the battery sealing performance cause the pressure of opening valve to drop, the relief valve will be opened for a long time, and the acid mist condenses into liquid, causing the leakage.
l A column of terminal
The leakage on the pole column mainly occurs after the battery has been used for a long time. The key reason for the leakage is that the metal on the pole column does not cooperate well with the sealant on the battery cover. The pole terminal is corroded by oxygen in an acidic environment.
