How long will it take to charge your deep cycle battery?

Knowing how many Amp hours your deep cycle battery stores allows you to work out and which type of charger you’ll need and about how long the charge will take. To calculate the charge time, find the Amp hour rating of your battery and divide it by the amp rating of the charger.

Which type of deep cycle battery chargers will be suitable?

Step 1

Step 2

Charge in well-ventilated place only.

Check electrolyte level to ensure plates are covered with water before charging. Use distilled water only, do not fill with acid.

Step 3

Make sure all vent caps are secured properly on the battery before its charging.

Deep-cycle flooded/wet batteries will gas (bubble) towards the end of charger to make sure the electrolyte is fully mixed.

Never charge a frozen battery.

Avoid charging at temperatures over 120°F (49°C)
